In early 2015 my childhood friend Holden passed away. I was left with so many important words unsaid. The subjects are people who have influenced and helped mold the person I am today, the letters are a moment to speak candidly and spread appreciation. It's not necessary to respond or even read if you don't want. I'll have prints done when the series is finished and gallery ready, can send a copy then if you'd like.

Last year I finished a project dedicated to my late friend Holden.

My biggest struggle working through his sudden passing was wishing I could have a chance to tell him how important he was to me. Eventually I realized that I couldn't change what happened, but I could take that energy and turn it into something positive.

I chose 12 people from throughout my life that had helped me become the person I am today, I drew each a portrait and wrote a letter where I said the things i'd never have the courage to say otherwise.

I'm sharing this project in hopes that you take the time to tell the people in your life what they mean to you. It may feel uncomfortable being vulnerable, but you'll never know the impact your honesty can make on someones life until you take the first step.

In 2018 I created a series of portraits for friends & family that have inspired me. I wrote personal letters with each as a way of sharing appreciation. This project is dedicated to my late friend Holden, we miss you.
